Hello Friends, How are you today? Can you believe that it’s day 13 already for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge? Wow!! Keep in mind you can jump in any time and you don’t have to catch up at all. Your first day can start at 13. 🙂 Today I will be inking up and coloring one of my favorite stamp sets called, “Abby’s Spring Showers” and it’s always a great thing when there is a matching die cut.

To watch the video in HD click here. I wanted to share with you how I created the dots with the grid pattern using this stencil in the video.
When I was completely finished with “Abby” some pink marker appeared on her hair!!! After I caught my breath I realized this was perfect because Abby is always getting something in her hair or on her hands. Often it’s ink because her mom is Heidi from Simon and of course she loves inks and all that good stuff!
If I wasn’t posting ever single day for 30 days I would have redone the background and would be more careful and clean my grid stencil better in-between inking each circle. I also would have done more dots with the grid…love the look of that. The Mint, Sea Glass & Fog are so pretty together.
I took an artistic approach to her coat plus I added some tiny lines. I dotted her rain boots and added some glossy accents.

Cute card! Thanks for the video. I didn’t realize I could post to the challenge with a link to Facebook — I’ve been posting my stuff there. Who knew? So posted all of them today. I was feeling really good ‘cuz I was keeping up…and then the weekend hit. Ack! And the next couple of days promise to be crazy. So I will still my coloring in, even if it’s only 5 minutes, but likely nothing will be completed for a couple of days. Still, it’s been so much fun. I’ve been defining “coloring” broadly so as not to stress myself out. I figure as long as there’s some sort of ink medium, I’m good, whether there’s an image or not. lol Thanks for putting the challenge together!
Thanks for the giveaway. I’m new to alcohol markers, so went the less expensive route until I know I like the medium. I think I’m ready to try copics, tho’, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Hi Kathy, so enjoying this 30 day challenge. Even sharing a post or two on my Facebook page. I love colouring with copics but I seem to empty my pens super fast I think I tend to overblend. I’m waiting on a payment to come through on a job I did and I am going to splurge on refills for all I have so I can colour when I don’t want to watercolour.
Love how you added the lines to the circles, so cool. These little characters coming out at the moment with the long long legs, really look neat hey.

I just recently broke down and started my copic collection, and am so confused over which colors to start with. Using the Hobby Lobby 40% of coupon, but can only get one at a time unless you get a set. Have heard some say don’t buy the sets, but I have and like them, The sets they carry are limited, and colors are bright, but it’s the least expensive way to get them, and we need so many!! Trying to learn how to blend them – not quite as easy as you make it look, especially when the colors are too far apart!! Would love to win a set as they are pricey. Thanks for the chance! You always have a unique approach to design. Love the grid circles–a soft but graphic background for the rounded lines of the focal image. The color palette says “spring” without being obvious. A beautiful card.

I have been wanting Copics for so long and am on a tight budget but recently I have asked a few bloggers for advice on which markers to buy first (as in the basics) as I will have to get them one or two at a time. Love the little polka rain boots! Great colouring. The card turned out really cute. Thanks for the double stencil idea. It made a sweet background. Oh! The circles would be cute with the raindrops stencil over it, too.

Another beautiful card. I just LOVE how you did the background. I never thought of using the stencil grid on a circle cutout but it looks so great. I bought a couple simon Says ink pads and I am just loving them so am going to order more. Love the colors you used. A few more to add to my list. I just adore the Abbys Spring flowers set. Have that on my wish list. Saving up to buy the dies with the stamps. That lil bunny is just adorable. I’m just in love with stencils so I have that one to order too. Love how you colored the lil girl, so beautiful. I SO NEED matching Copics. It would be so great to have some Copic blending sets as all I have are a few differant colors, that don’t match. Great card and video Kathy! Lovely chance to win more copics. I’m still fighting a bug, and haven’t had any energy, I drag myself to look at the computer once/day and the rest of the time I’m in bed! I have “spring break” guests this week, last evening I did get out some of my copics and let my sis-in-law play with them a bit and I helped her make a BD card for our other sis-in-law. As soon as I’m better, I’ll take some photo’s of my coloring adventures. Hope your hubby is doing all his exercises!

What a great idea for a background. So much of the success of coloring depends on the blending factor, which you demonstrated so clearly. Hi Kathy, Love the card… She is so cute and adorable. As always, THANKS for the video, I learned how to “hover” today. I always did my stencils like I did in the olden days when I use to stencil my furniture or walls, kind of like pounding with the dauber on the paper. So I am truly excited to try this way, and wow, I know my stencils are going to be so much better. Yeah, you always get the extra ink on your project when you’re almost finished, never when you’re first beginning! haha I just started collecting Copics, so I only have a couple. They’re addicting!

I am on vacation and have been doing lots of doodling on napkins in eateries. Before I left, I was Copic coloring images daily. This is a great way to improve ones skills. I know it has helped me. Thanks for the push, and for a chance to win some Copic love!
This stamp set is so cute and I love what you’ve done with your card. I will give this technique a try, including the artistic look on Abby’s coat…..I really like that. I don’t have Copic markers and have been wondering how to start collecting them. I know I would have to get monochromatic colors little by little. A set of 6 is a great idea. I hope I win!

Oh I love this card and I especially love how you did her coat so that it looks open. I would love to see your videos showing you doing the coloring and putting the finished card together…but I know you are so super busy and the point of this challenge is more to color and do it in different ways than what you are comfortable with…thank you again for this challenge. I think its something we need to do more often and I am glad you brought it forth for all of us.
