Hello Friends, It’s Day 27 and I am starting to think what will I do when the challenge is over…not counting on catching up around the house lol. I am going to miss “seeing” you all everyday š
With that said I am hoping to get in a video in the next few days. The flower was borrowed from a friend and I think it’s from Crafters Companion.
We were sitting and chatting … sometimes that’s the best way to mindlessly color and try new things. I have been wanting to color something with my grey markers. (you can find grey markers in sets in case you didn’t know)
I just kept on rolling with this and added some yellow around the petals.
and then some lines around the yellow. I keep adding more lines and then boxes.
The boxes needed to be shaded and I felt it was finally finished. Try boxing in one of your images for a more graphic look. Thanks for all of your lovely comments and feedback it’s so appreciate. Hugs, Kathy

I was never really an instagramer before I decided to take the challenge and now I love it!! I also fixed everything so I could post quick and easy to my blog from iPad and that also lead to me doing my first video tutorial…and that was all because you got me to do something NEW by posting on instagram everyday. It was a month of new things for me! Thanks so much Kathy!!

ah… we are going to miss you too (course my house might look a bit better… not gonna lie) – but i spose we really don’t need a challenge to keep coloring (it just gives me a daily kick in the pants LOL) If you do another challenge you know you’ve got lots of takers š I love todays edition – what you did with that image is wonderful – love your doodles: lines and boxes and then the shading. oh and not forgetting your signature white dots š just wonderful. thanks so much- now back to my coloring!

Nice job. IF this is just mindless coloring and doodling inside a stamped image….Keep it up. It is absolutely beautiful. I like the hint of adding boxes to give it a more graphic feel. TFS this with us.

Kathy, I love the gray, It looks so good with the yellow. My favorite part is the boxes, I would never think of that but it makes it “pop” so much. I have to try that, I can’t believe the challenge is almost over, I have not posted any of my projects yet. I have to get going.

Always like gray and yellow together. White dots again adds something more to the flower but the squares really make this more dimensional. Thanks

I love the gray flower! Sometimes I just use my darker colors to color with to come up with gloomy combinations that can be happied up by putting them on lighter backgrounds! LOL
Thanks for having this fun challenge! It couldn’t have been a better time for it. It has gotten me up for at least a few minutes each day even after I broke my foot. Not sure I would have gotten up if not for the challenge. Will post today’s creation later today on IG!

Beautiful Kathy! I”m so far behind in taking photo’s of my coloring projects, I haven’t turned them all into cards yet, but at least I have a bunch that I can do that with. I skipped coloring yesterday, between church, chores and going to see a Broadway play, not enough time! But I have a bunch of coloring planned for today, need to stamp a bunch of images so I can get to it.

Love the gray and yellow. Beautiful! I was in Michaels this morning, they have Artist Loft/Art for everyone. for 50% off. I got the Still Live Floral Postcards for $4.59. The paper is 168.9 lb. I used the back of one to test my markers, does not show thru. Also, I always check their Clearance, today I found 2 Copic Wides a W5 Grey and E29. They were $1.99 each. They are very juicy, it is just the outsides are rough.
PS the Flowers are open, and the print lines are a light gray.

Wow Kathy you have so much creative talent… This flower is beautiful and those boxes make it look like it is up off the paper gorgeous… This challenge has been soooo fun and I do have a bunch to catch up on but so worth it. I am now up on flicker and Instagram and have so appreciated the extremely kind and wonderful people on Instagram wow some amazing ladies and you brought us all together.. You might watch out on the next one I having a feeling that there will be a lot more cause I think we are passing this around to get ALL our friends involved…:) it has been such a pleasure and you kind inspiring comments and the precious time you have given is always a gift beyond measure. That’s great Kathy. I love that flower and the boxes are great. I’m going to try that. Also, I didn’t know that you could get the grey Copics in sets. As a matter of fact I don’t have any yet and I have been trying to find a person or tip of a video to where I could find out which colours some one should start with. (I can’t afford them all at once so it would be nice to know where to start.) I hope you do host another colour challenge, it is fun!

you make this Zen doodling sound so easy but you know whats the hardest? Knowing when to stop and not ruin what your working on. Im too relaxed with the whole process, have tried and always end up with so much detail you can’t even see the original design or my design varies so much in size it looks like its suffering from a hernia. I think I will content myself with looking at yours and others like you who just have the knack.
