Hello hello Friends, How are you today? Welcome to Day 5! It’s been a busy week with hops & videos so you can imagine my delight when my “adult coloring cards” arrived!
You might be asking Adult Coloring Cards? Well…. adult coloring books are the rage these days but, the paper isn’t the best and the images can be wayyyy to involved and to large. This set if 4 cards …coloring cards… are the next best thing. They are from Simon Says Stamp in collaboration Modify Ink!
What I love most is that when you are ready to color you don’t have to do ONE thing! No stamping, no deciding what stamp….not a thing! All you need to do is choose your colors.
This paper is slightly more creamy than it appears on my screen. You might want to notice that I did take a thin copic marker to outline my coloring because that’s what I love to do but, it’s not necessary. Annnddd I had to add some white dots with my trusty gel pen.
this is the before and the after I outlined everything.
These cards are meant to be framed so that’s what I did. It just happened that the colors looks nice with our painting. Love it when that happens 🙂
The bottom line is that creating your own home decor feels so good *sigh* A big thanks to Simon for making this dream of mine happen.
These are the set of four. Such a lovely variety and it would make a great gift to buy a frame and put your work of art inside :).

I have just ordered a colouring bood for adults (http://www.bookdepository.com/Mindfulness-Colouring-Book-Emma-Farrarons/9780752265629) because I figured this would be perfect for some ‘mindless’ colouring using coloured pencils. I’m finding I like the control I have when using coloured pencils.

These cards look like fun. The Hello You card is my favorite and yours is colored beautifully.
I have one of the adult coloring books. My daughter gave it to me for Mother’s Day after she saw how much I was enjoying my new Botanical Sketch stamp from Tim Holtz. It is more like an art diary for me. I am using color pencils because the paper is too thin for most markers and the images are have a lot of fine details, which I love. If I only spent 5 minutes a day on a page and color for 30 days and still not finish a page.
The cards from Simon Says would be perfect for someone who loves to color but is not into such tiny details. Great review.

Amazing timing. I first heard of adult coloring books yesterday and immediately did an online search. So many beautiful ones to choose from. It was just the nudge I needed to get those new real brush watercolor markers. Love your cards and look forward to your posts each day.

Beautiful! I created my own adult coloring cards, just printed free images on the CS that works best for me with Copic markers. But now I can get there, how fun!

Very nice Kathy. I recently bought a 12×12 piece of cardstock that was stamped with 8 images. They were made to color also and I had lots of fun doing them. Thanks for sharing.

Oh thank you Simon Says Stamp! Those adult coloring books are so tempting! But I’ve not picked them up for fear we would ruin the back side of a page! I love this idea even better, I’m sure this paper is Copic friendly! Love these images how exciting!

Those are neat ! And you always do a great job coloring. I’ve been looking for one of the “adult” coloring books , but they are always sold out. I have a friend fighting a battle and has a lot of “sitting” time. Thought the coloring book would be good for her and she loves to doodle.

Kathy, this has already been such a wonderful experience for me personally. I have always loved to color. My first memory of coloring is age 3. My grandmother’s hand guiding me. She was was my mentor. I had color books and blank color pads to color on to my hearts content. I think color books for adults is a fabulous idea. I’d never heard of them until I saw your post and read some of the ladies comments – fascinating. Your color book card choice today is simply stunning in color, and looks absolutely wonderful staged on your table. I have long been a fan of Simon Says Stamp – I’m not surprised they have thought of this idea. Coloring one as a gift for someone who doesn’t do this type of crafting, or giving the whole set uncolored w/a frame would be a wonderful BD, Mother’s Day, of Christmas gift. I’m going to choose something today from one of my favorite Arizona artists, Terry Medaris http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/terry-medaris.html. His work with Prismacolor pencil is nothing less than amazing. So… I better get started! See ya on IG!

Yes! Adult coloring books!!! I have recently gotten mandala books and flower coloring books even medicinal plant coloring books where you have a finished book after you color them in it’s pretty cool! Dover publications has a line called “creative haven” that is great (some are extremely dated and others are really nice). The newest one I ordered and haven’t received just yet is “secret garden” by Johanna Bradford.
I am really curious to the paper used for the modify ink and really hope (since it looks so great with your copic coloring) it is easily accessible let alone not overly expensive.
Well these are some beautiful images, and I love the idea, but in my personal opinion – 14.99 is just too much for me, unfortunately I can not afford that. What you did with it is just stunning though, and I’ve always loved the beautiful blue Copic coloring you outline the borders with 🙂
I love seeing the “extras” you add with the white pen and whatever black fine line. It’s like that last step in counted cross-stitch where you outline. Makes a HUGE difference and adds so much texture and detail. Thank you again for this fun FUN 30 day coloring challenge. I’m so excited that I’ve been able to participate every day – some days with more coloring time than others. Love the “no pressure” and especially seeing what everyone is posting. I did pick up an adult coloring book last week. I just it would be relaxing to color
the large images.
I think the cards from Simon’s are lovely and be just as relaxing to color.

Hi Kathy, Well I have never heard of adult colouring in books before, but they do the right job for someone that doesn’t like stamping, I like stamping so that’s ok for me,
and your colours you have chosen for this project is really pretty, I love flower and butterfly’s on the cards I do, Cheers Anna.

I LOVE the idea of having these cards ready & waiting for colour, so nice not to have to fumble around with stamps & inks and deciding on a design, I think I would really enjoy practising my colouring techniques with these, especially the flowers and cool bird 🙂
