Hello Again Friends, Thanks enjoying the video from yesterday… I can’t tell you how much that means to me. Also I wanted to say that what you all are posting is so inspiring. I am hoping this weekend brings some time to leave comments on the coloring posted on my blog. I am having trouble with so many passwords it really slows things down. If I don’t get to all of you please know that I tried and that I am really enjoying the art!!
OK … I have a really awesome giveaway from Lucy’s Cards. Lots of beautiful sequin packages that will rock your world lol.
When I laid my eyes on this “Flower Potted” stamp set from Waffle Flowers I knew I had to color it. For my card I also added another lovely set called “Flower Planted” with a little masking fun.
For me it’s always a question of….where to put the sentiment. A strip of vellum is always the easy answer. I used a black dye ink and gave it some time to dry then scored it and wrapped it around my cardstock.
Below is one of those Flipogram thingys. I slowed it way down so you can see the coloring process. Just click on the arrow.
My masking paper was hiding so I used a sticky note and that worked great to mask off my plants.
Below is every color I used …eek!! The SSS stamping grid pad is really helpful and I love using it.
Once I finished I used a little distress ink.

Love this stamp set and your card is beautiful. This is first time I’ve seen a “Flipogram thingys”…pretty cool to view. I tried my first shaker card for Father’s Day…sequins flying all over and sticking to foam tape, but at the end turned out :o)

Yes I have. A few in fact. I am despair ate for the day when they release 3m foam tape in narrow strips!! I once made a cool faux metal look shaker card for my husband and filled it with brads and washers instead of sequins.

Double layer the foam tape. The window needs to be deep enough for them to move about. Happy Shaking!

I love putting shakers into my scrapbooks. Sand from the trip and other little bits and pieces in it. I use sequins on my pages amongst the embellishments or dotted about. So many uses for them! I just went to a specialist plant sale and your Succulent colours are spot on Kathy!

Kathy, Beautiful Card, Love the colors. I mentioned your name on the SSS blog a few days ago, I hope that was alright with you? A girl named Kelly was joining them and did an amazing card so she listed the copic #’s she used like you do, so I mentioned how you do that also and it has helped me so much with my coloring and how much I appreciate it, and of course I mentioned your 30 day color challenge. Also, the password problem, I can relate and my husband picked up for me at our Hallmark store a password “book”, it has saved my life, I have like tons of passwords especially doctors (they all have to be different)but with this book I can keep track of them all, very cool, check your local hallmark store. Sorry this is so long, as for your question, I have not done a shaker card, BUT I have a ton of sequins already that I bought on SSS last year to do a bubble gum shaker card with, I bought everything to do it with but never got around to doing it, lol. I do that a lot, see a card you, or on sss and when you guys list the products below, I buy them all, then put them in my draw because I am working on something or I am not feeling well, silly me, good thing I have a good hubby. thanks, sorry again for long post if u even get this far, lol.

I made a shaker once using a CD envelope but have never done a “real” card, nor have I ever used sequins. I am afraid of them popping off. I love the look of them though and in a shaker there wouldn’t be problems with popping off. If I win, I will give it a GO.

Yes, I have made shaker cards. The biggest challenge for me is getting the right amount of filling. I always stamp my sentiments on a piece of vellum when I first get them. Then you can try placing it around the card to see how it looks without stamping and then saying ‘ oh shoot, should have put it up a bit’. I don’t guarantee perfect placement every time but I find it helps a lot. Hugz

Your coloring is beautiful! I have made a shaker card, but I made the mistake of putting glitter in with my other goodies. It liked clinging to the acetate. I won’t do that again.

Beautiful succulents! Yes, I’ve made a few shaker cards, not a ton, but several. They are fun, just need to think about doing more often. I even made a card that you used clear hair gel to look like water, that was cool too.

Yes, I have made a few shaker cards and plan to make more. They always seem to “wow” the recipient. I love your card–really enjoy seeing blending of copics between non similar colors ie. blue to brown. I struggle with that.
Yes, I’ve made shaker cards. The first few I used the wrong kind of glue and they didn’t shake very well but I’ve learned that it is better to use a dry that will totally dry and the cards are much better now. Lots and lots of fun and those who receive them also love to shake them!! Thanks for the giveaway – would be fun to win them!

Yes, I have made a couple shaker cards but not from scratch, I used the Impression Obsession shaker pouches…as Angela’s used to carry them. Now I have bought there white overlays to match there pouches which makes it even easier. Anyway, I am getting off topic. I love your card! The coloring is wonderful. And I always have trouble with adding sentiments too, I love the vellum idea! And as far as the giveaway, I don’t have ANY sequins believe it or not…I resisted that whole trend, but do think that they are so pretty! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I have made a LOT of shaker cards. Where I live (short of ordering online, which I don’t do) I cannot find sequins, so I have to be resourceful in what I use in them. I have made children’s shaker cards with little alphabet pasta inside, fine coloured sand., silicone beads saved from packaging., glittery bits, saved from intricate dies, glitter, tiny diecut/punched shapes., among other things! LOL Its fun to think outside of the box!
