Hello Friends, Ack it’s day 27 and I am nodding off as I edit this post. We went to dinner with some friends and 2 drinks did me in. Dozing as I type.
You all know I love flowers and this stamp set called, “Sunshine and Smiles” it’s right up my alley.
I filmed a video using some Zig watercolor brush markers and didn’t have time to edit it. Blame it on posting daily but, I will get up up and let you know when it is. I used the .03 urber thin marker to add lines in each petal, leaf and the flowers center.
When the kiddos were little we were in France and pulled over on the side of the road to take photos in someones sunflower field. This stamp takes me way back 🙂

Great colouring, I cant believe we are so close to ending. I have been using this challenge to give me a break from the stress of looking after mum and dad, what will I do now? Ahh well it has been brilliant.
Aileen, You must keep challenging yourself. You need to find time for you to recharge. Coloring is a great stress relief. Take care of yourself so you can take care of your folks. 🙂

What a sight that must have been Kathy! I grew different colours of sunflowers the first time my husband and I had a garden. They are a striking flower and the birds love the seeds. Great card.

I cant imagine how much work you put into it. you rest now and relax. thanks so much for all of your support and such sweet comments on my instagram site. things are about to get much better in my craft room. I had a meltdown (lol) and finally figured out what to order to help with even more organization. i’m getting a new table, some alex drawers from ikea and 2 billy book cases also. I was getting frustrated in the middle of my cards. i’m better now and my pictures seem better with the new photo studio in a box. you are wonderful, Kathy. I’m so grateful that we have you.

Hello….I too, saw the numerous fields of sunflowers in SD last fall while visiting the famous monuments. My trip to SD was on my bucket list. (I’m 70 yrs. old). We just had to stop the car and take photos in the sunflower fields. So beautiful.
Yes, Connie the monuments are amazing, as well. My favorite time was camping in the Black Hills. We lived in SD for 6 years and loved every minute. I am glad you got to check it off your bucket list!

Oh my gosh! I love how you did the coloring! I have done something kind of like what you did but it didn’t look as good as yours. I love how you did the leaves and the colors in the flowers. They look so real! My sister is a photographer who puts her photos on handbags and other things. Her photos of the sunflowers at Buttonwood Farms look like what you did.
This week my parents had a doctors appointment. I brought my clipboard and some coloring. Tomorrow I am going to color a flower pot for me. I’m going to use Washi Tape, and some flower stencils. If I can’t do the stencils properly, I will probably do polka dots. I can’t wait to have some fun coloring! It’s probably going to rain tomorrow so I will have fun inside! I will post a photo when I finish it.

You’ve got that right! When you have to go with your parents to all these doctors appointments you get so you’ve read all the magazines or they don’t have any worth reading. I could bring one of my library books but I also love to color. Its compact and its fun and people even comment on it and say how they like it. Once I had a little boy help me pick out the colors. It kept him busy and his mom was happy he wasn’t running around and being a nuisance.

The poppies are beautiful, but I’m still trying to figure out how you masked the macaron cookies one in front, one in back, over, under, etc.! Are these die cut and layered or is this a one layer marvel? Inquiring mind…
Maureen, This is a one layer card. The macaroons were stacked on top of each other. The bottom macaroons were masked in order to stamp the teacup in front of the macaroons. The images appears popped because of the grey copic outline shadow.:)

I love your instructional posts. I am not naturally artistic, but I do follow instructions pretty well, especially step by step instructions when it comes to coloring. Copics make it so much easier for me since mistakes can be fixed…except maybe for the darker reds. Love your floral design….so pretty….and I always like to pop something on my cards to give it dimension….I rare make a totally flat card. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Jan, Red copics are difficult The only tip I can share is to stop shy of the outer line since red tends to bleed more for some reason. Wait and see if you need more by the line and use a light hand with the marker tip. The blender still can get rid of a red “oops” but do one swipe of blender then let it dry before you swipe blender again. Dimension is always dynamic. 🙂

Hi Kathy I am kind of working backwards but no matter which way I go your work is just so awesome. I really do like the video’s that really aren’t edited to much because it makes me feel like my work area isn’t the only one that keeps the extra items laying around.
